Trump Organization Seeks Trademark for Digital Expansion, Including NFTs and Metaverse

The Trump Organization has taken a significant step toward expanding its digital footprint by filing a new trademark application for the name “TRUMP” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The application, submitted on February 24, 2025, signals potential plans for a virtual ecosystem that includes a metaverse presence and an NFT trading platform.

The filing was made by DTTM Operations LLC, the entity responsible for managing Trump-related trademarks. It outlines a range of digital products and services under the TRUMP brand, including virtual clothing, restaurants, training programs, and a digital marketplace for cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

New TRUMP Platform to Feature NFTs, Metaverse, and Virtual Services

The proposed platform would allow users to purchase and wear virtual TRUMP-branded apparel, experience simulated dining at virtual TRUMP restaurants, and access educational programs covering topics such as business, real estate, fundraising, and hospitality management.

The move follows previous digital ventures by President Donald Trump and his affiliates. In January 2024, Bitcoin Ordinals were introduced for buyers of Trump’s ‘Mugshot Edition’ NFTs, which included perks such as a private dinner with the former president.

Additionally, in November 2024, Trump Media & Technology Group filed a trademark application for ‘TruthFi,’ a crypto payment and trading service, while also considering an acquisition of the crypto platform Bakkt. More recently, the company has pursued trademarks related to Bitcoin investment products and other digital assets.

The latest filing has drawn political attention, particularly from Democratic Representative Sam Liccardo of California, who recently introduced the Modern Emoluments and Malfeasance Enforcement (MEME) Act, aimed at restricting federal officials and their families from financially profiting through cryptocurrency and NFT ventures.
