OpenAI’s introduction of its latest GPT models, o3 and o4-mini, has revealed an increase in hallucination rates. This poses a significant challenge despite the enhancements in model capabilities.

OpenAI’s leadership and research teams, led by figures like CEO Sam Altman, have acknowledged these phenomena and are conducting further studies to identify and address these complications.

Although the higher hallucination rates are acknowledged, there has been no evident financial market impact. Crypto assets including BTC and ETH remain unaffected by these findings.

These events underscore ongoing concerns in AI reliability across industries. However, institutional funding and research allocations for OpenAI or affiliated sectors show no signs of change.
