Gemini Moves Toward Public Listing with Confidential IPO Filing

Crypto exchange and custodian Gemini has reportedly filed confidentially for an initial public offering (IPO), according to sources cited by Bloomberg.

The company, founded by billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, is working with financial giants Goldman Sachs and Citigroup on the potential listing. However, no final decision has been made regarding the timing or structure of the IPO.

SEC Ends Investigation, Clearing Path for Gemini’s Growth

Gemini’s move comes on the heels of a recently concluded U.S. SEC investigation. The nearly two-year probe, which cost the company tens of millions in legal fees, ended without any enforcement action, as confirmed in February by Cameron Winklevoss.

Additionally, in January, Gemini settled a separate lawsuit with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for $5 million.

The confidential IPO filing aligns with broader regulatory shifts affecting the crypto industry. The SEC has recently dropped cases against other major firms, including Coinbase and Uniswap.

White House Summit Signals Government Support for Digital Assets

Gemini’s IPO plans also follow a high-profile White House summit on cryptocurrency, attended by the Winklevoss twins alongside other industry leaders and policymakers.

The event marked a significant shift in the U.S. government’s approach to digital assets, with President Donald Trump voicing strong support for the sector.

One of the key takeaways from the summit was the administration’s plan to establish a U.S.

If successful, the IPO could mark a significant milestone for the exchange, further integrating digital assets into the mainstream financial market.
