Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has joined Paradigm, a research-driven cryptocurrency investment firm, as an incident response advisor.
ZachXBT confirmed the move in a post on X on February 26, stating that he will collaborate with Paradigm’s portfolio companies to enhance their security measures.
Paradigm co-founder and managing partner Matt Huang also announced the development, emphasizing that ZachXBT’s role remains unchanged.
“Nothing about his focus will change; we just want to support his ability to keep up the good work,” Huang stated.
The hiring follows a major security breach at crypto exchange Bybit, one of the largest cybersecurity exploits in the industry’s history. ZachXBT is expected to assist Paradigm-backed firms in strengthening their defenses against similar attacks.

Recognized as one of the most influential figures in Web3 security, blockchain investigator ZachXBT has over 820,000 followers on X and is known for exposing hacks, scams, and security vulnerabilities.
His investigative work has played a key role in uncovering illicit activities and tracking down bad actors within the crypto space. Since 2021, he has helped recover approximately $350 million in stolen funds, according to Huang.
Recently, ZachXBT linked the Lazarus Group, a notorious hacking collective, to both the Bybit attack and a series of Solana-based scams, including rug pulls on the Pump.fun platform.
Paradigm, a major player in crypto venture capital, invests in high-potential Web3 startups, with funding amounts ranging from $1 million to $100 million per project.
The firm currently holds over 50 investments valued at more than $2 billion, according to Fintel.io data. Notable portfolio companies include Coinbase, Uniswap, and Optimism.
